Pre-School

WELCOME TO LANGENHOE PRE-SCHOOL
Our aim at Langenhoe Pre-School is to provide a caring, stimulating and secure learning environment for your child with an emphasis on happiness and well-being. Our prepared classroom will assist your child to reach their maximum potential, at whatever level that may be. We encourage and support children in becoming well balanced individuals able to cope with the emotional and social aspects of everyday life. We promote positive learning experiences thereby creating the enthusiasm, desire and continued quest for knowledge in your child.
Every child is a unique individual with their own learning style. To support this, we have a dedicated key person for each child to develop and scaffold their learning. We work towards the Early Years Foundation Stage, a standard in early years  learning, and plan on a weekly basis to assist your child's development in the following EYFS areas:
PRIME AREAS:
Communication and language
Physical Development
Personal, Social Emotional Development

SPECIFIC AREAS:
Literacy
Mathematics
Understanding the World
Expressive Art & Design

We promote a well resourced free-flow environment between the inside and outside by providing engagaing activities in both areas with the added benefit of an undercover canopy in our garden.

We use our SMART interactive white board to access learning activities in English & French.

We work closely throughout the year with the Reception Teachers to prepare the children for a seamless transition into the Reception class. We share the outside area with the Year 1 and Reception children. We also support children in visiting other schools.

This is available to children in the term after their third birthday. Any hours in excess of this are charged separately at £5.50 per hour and snack is charged at 35p per session. We are able to offer the option of a hot school meal at the cost of £2.20 per meal or your child may bring a packed lunch.

We work closely with parents and have several open evenings during the course of the academic year to assist you in supporting your child's learning at home. There is also a continued dialogue via a Home-Link Book regarding the progress of your child as well being able to support parents with strategies for behavioural issues. We welcome parent/carers observations of their child to include in their child's Learning Journey. We also invite parent/carers into the Pre-School to read to the children.
