Pupil Voice
At Langenhoe the children are at the heart of all we do.
We ensure children have a voice within, and on behalf of, our school community through a variety of ways including school council (see below for more information).
School Council
The school council is an important part of our community and provides an opportunity for pupils to have a voice in what happens in their school. It is democratically elected each year and two members from each class are voted onto the school council to represent their class. The views of the pupils in the classes are shared in meetings every two weeks. The School Council is a voice for our own school community not just within school but on behalf of the school and the elected representatives have also met with The Mayor, Local Parish Council and other visitors to the school.
This is what some of our pupils say about Langenhoe school….
“There is loads of things in the classroom to help you learn”
“PE helps us get our energy up”
“I really enjoy learning because I learn new things that I didn’t know before”
“We have books to help us learn”
“I really enjoy the school dinners”
“The teachers are all kind”
“The clubs are really fun”
“I think it’s good that we have a code of conduct so that we know how to be respectful, be kind and have the courage to make the right choices”
“The teachers are all kind”
“I enjoy coming to Langenhoe School because it’s super easy to make friends and the teachers are really nice. I also think we are lucky to have an amazing wildlife area and thanks to Mr Williamson we are allowed to go down almost whenever we want as well as use it for Forest School. There are lots of other fun clubs like Tennis Homework and Dance. We also get to play lots of cool sports with Colchester United, three days a week at Lunchtime e.g. dodgeball, football, handball and tag games.”
“Langenhoe is a great school and I really enjoy learning in it. I like it because the teachers are nice, friendly and they make lessons fun. Everyone supports you when you feel sad and they always help you feel better. It’s really easy to make friends so no one will ever feel lonely. This is the best school ever and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do.”
“I like Langenhoe because everyone is nice to each other and no-one gets left out. The teacher are always keen to help us learn in various ways. They also take in our ideas and use them to adapt lessons, making them more enjoyable. If there is something we think would make learning easier they will always take it into consideration and try their best to make it happen.”
“I like the school because there are fun ways to learn things like spellings and timetables and we do lots of tests to practice. There are multiple choices of books to read and I also like the reading cafe, which you can go to at lunch if you would like to read any books. Also it’s a small school so it’s easy to make lots of friends and the teachers are really good.”
“Langenhoe Community Primary School is an amazing school because all lessons are taught with excellent teachers and LSAs that will ensure you feel welcome. Although Langenhoe is a small school, all lessons are taught with respect and care. All of the nature surrounding the school and outside of the school is respected by all pupils as we learn further into our world’s surroundings.”
